Pacific Health offers the following sport therapy services
Active Release Technique (ART)
Active Release Technique (ART) is a hands-on technique that effectively treats soft tissues (i.e. Muscles, ligaments, tendons, nerves) to improve range of motion, decrease pain and improve their function. The treatment itself is performed by tensioning scar tissue or adhesions in soft tissue with the practitioner’s hands while guiding the patient through specific movements to help maximize the tension on an adhesion, allowing it to separate and release.
Chiropractic Care specializes in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of conditions related to the muscles, ligaments, tendons, nerves and joints of the body. Chiropractors use a variety of gentle techniques to diagnose, treat, and prevent injuries while improving the body’s health and function.
Instead of off the shelf insoles that are not designed for the shape and movement of your unique foot, custom orthotics help reduce imbalances in the feet can lead to excessive ankle movement, knee rotation, and pelvic tilt. Having improper foot movement can make the body more prone to injuries including plantar fasciitis, shin splints, knee pain, hip pain, and back pain. A properly aligned body will have symmetrical feet, level knees, pelvis and shoulders. Wearing custom orthotics may help alleviate imbalances and conditions caused by those imbalances.
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM)
This treatment uses metal instruments to detect, treat, and reduce scar tissue and restrictions that affect normal soft tissue function (i.e. muscles, tendons, and ligaments). This form of therapy is especially effective against chronic and stubborn injuries and is also commonly used in our clinic to reduce the scar tissue from patients after surgery for faster recovery and fewer complications. We use the following certified techniques: Graston and FAKTR (Functional and Kinetic Treatment with Rehab).
Kinesiology Tape works to support muscles and better align joints to provides stability, improve range of motion, and reduce pain. Kinesiology Tape is made from a breathable and water-resistant material with elastic properties that provides multiple days of comfort, relief, and improved recovery.
Low Level Cold Laser Therapy (LLLT) effectively reduces pain, inflammation and accelerates the healing process in the body. By painlessly sending specific wavelengths of laser deep under the skin to an injury, this therapy stimulates cells to produce more energy and jumpstart the healing process at the injury. By speeding the body’s ability to heal itself, LLLT is an effective, natural way to boost your recovery.
The goal of non-invasive sciatic nerve treatment is to relieve symptoms of pain, weakness, tingling, burning sensations or numbness caused by compressed of the nerve or nerve roots. These symptoms often occur in the buttock and depending on the severity, can continue down the back of the thigh, calf, and even the toes. The compression on the sciatic nerve can be treated with a combination of chiropractic care, massage therapy, Active Release Techniques (ART), and Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT).
Selective and Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA)
Selective and Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) is a series of movement tests that compares how your entire body is moving compared to individual joints. This assessment allows us to quickly find areas of compensation with your movement, areas of imbalance, and even poor stability.
Titleist Performance Institute’s Assessment for Golfers (TPI)
This assessment is made up of 12 biomechanical movements and is designed to identify the specific physical limitations that may be contributing to swing faults, reducing performance, or increasing a golfer’s risk of injury. This assessment helps focus a golfer’s treatment plan to help improve their game, stay healthy and get the swing they’re looking for.
